This Privacy Policy explains how Stellara ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and order a personal birth report.

Short version: We collect only the data we need to deliver your report. We do not sell your data. We do not use it for anything other than generating and sending your Stellara report, and, only if you sign up for it, sending you the Stellara Weekly newsletter.

1. Who we are

Stellara is operated as an independent business. For privacy-related questions, you can reach us at hello@mystellara.com.

2. What data we collect

When you place an order, we collect:

Your first name (to personalise your report)
Your birth date, birth time, and birth place (to calculate your astrological and numerological profile)
Your email address (to deliver your report)
Payment information, processed entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details

When you visit our website, standard server and analytics data may be collected (see section 6 on cookies).

3. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the basis of contract performance: you provide your birth details so we can deliver the report you paid for. Without this data, the service cannot be provided.

We do not use your birth data for any other purpose (the newsletter only gets the sun sign and Life Path number, see section 5). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Stellara Weekly newsletter and referral programme

The Stellara Weekly is optional. You only get it if you tick its box in the quiz; the report works the same either way.

When you sign up, we pass your email address to MailCheap, the service that sends the newsletter, together with where you signed up (the quiz, or a friend's referral code), your sun sign and your Life Path number. We work out the sign and the number in your browser from the birth date you entered in the quiz; the birth date itself is never sent to MailCheap.
Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe with the link in every email, after which you receive no more issues.
Referral programme: on mystellara.com/refer you enter your email address and get a personal code and link. The code is calculated from your email address with a secret key, so we do not keep a list of who asked for one, and the address you enter there is not stored. When a friend signs up through your link, your code is stored with their subscription as where they came from. Your friend never sees your name or email address.
Your progress counts only friends who joined through your link, confirmed their subscription and are still subscribed. The referral page answers the same way for every email address, so it does not reveal whether someone is on our list.
The reward download link is personal and expires after 24 hours.
If you open the quiz through a referral link, the code is kept in your browser's session storage under the key stellara_ref until you close the tab. It holds only the code.

6. Cookies and tracking

Our website may use the following cookies and tracking tools:

Essential cookies: required for the website to function (no consent needed)
Meta (Facebook) Pixel: used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook/Instagram. It sets no cookies and sends no data to Meta until you accept in our cookie banner.
Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: used to understand how visitors use our site. They run in Google Consent Mode, with all storage denied until you accept in our cookie banner.

Your choice (accept or decline) is stored in your browser, in its local storage, so we do not ask again on every visit. You can change it at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page. Clearing your browser data also resets it.

On the English quiz we test two versions of the page. Which version you see (A or B) is stored in your browser's local storage under the key stellara_ab_quiz_video. It holds only that letter, no personal data, and clearing your browser data removes it.

7. Third-party services

We use the following services to operate Stellara. Each has its own privacy policy:

Email delivery provider, to send your report to your inbox
MailCheap, to send the Stellara Weekly newsletter, only if you sign up for it (see section 5)

8. Data retention

We retain your birth details and email address for 30 days after delivery of your report. After that period, your data is permanently deleted from our systems. Payment records are kept for 7 years as required by financial regulations (processed and held by Stripe).

9. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the following rights:

Right to access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Right to rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data
Right to erasure: ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
Right to restriction: ask us to limit processing of your data
Right to object: object to processing based on our legitimate interests
Right to data portability: receive your data in a portable format

10. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS.

11. International transfers

Our service is primarily intended for users in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. If you access our site from the European Union, your data may be processed in countries outside the EU. Where this occurs, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
